Just as punk fans of a certain age might agree that very few venues left in the City of Boston truly lend themself to a local DIY show like the Sil, few local bands can truly rock a near perfect bill match up like local punk/emo powerhouses Massive Nightmares and Little Low!
June 10th was an absolutely flawless Wednesday night of sweaty but cathartic fun, with both bands joined by the incredibly talented Ian Legge (aka the “Punk Cellist”), as well as equally energetic Nashville skate punk trio, the Catastrophes!
Massive Nightmares and Little Low fall somewhere into what I’d loosely call “post-emo,” with beautifully introspective and at times tear-jerking lyrics wrapped in dense, catchy riffs that will take you right back to 2006, driving with the windows down, ready to leave your youth in the rear view.
Catch Little Low playing with Tired Radio and Elway at Faces Brewing in Malden on July 8th, and Massive Nightmares back at the Sil on August 12th!
